I did not fall off the face of the earth after the Pittsburgh Half Marathon.
Nor did I fall into the Ohio River, tumble backwards down the Duquesne Incline, or get trapped in one of the many cavernous potholes still remaining from winter. I have no excuse for not writing on here since I last recapped the race other than I’ve just been working. Working, working, working. But it was all for a great cause, y’all. I was trying to gather extra dough to save up for my move.
That’s right! I moved! And don’t ask, “Again???” You know I packed up
all of my belongings whatever would fit in a little U-Haul trailer and moved from NC back to PA last year in May. Well, I was in the bowels of suburbia and commuting to work everyday near the city was draining my gas tank and wallet. Once my lease was coming to an end, I knew I was finally going to make the move to Pittsburgh.
And I did!!! Just this past week, I finally got settled into my new place. 🙂 LOVING IT HARD. I can WALK to work if I so desire, am a stone’s throw from everything, and can be in downtown Pittsburgh in minutes. And now that moving is done, I can finally start getting back to life as normal. This means the gym (do I even lift, bro?), eating right (stress eating was making me feel and look like a busted can of biscuits), not working at my part time job as much (NFL season is coming–that means no Thursday or Monday nights, or Sundays), and dating again (some of them should have been live-tweeted, I swear). Anyhow, I’m feeling good, feeling more at peace and ready for what’s next in this new chapter of life, love, + Pittsburgh living.
Here are some pics of what’s been going on in my world!
That’s my friend and his daughter helping me move!
Until cable and Internet came into my life, there was a lot of this going on…
Now I can hang out with my college sorority sisters since I’m not so far away!
More time to spend at rooftop bars downtown, like Sienna Mercato.
And at cool bars like Penn Society.
Going to my new gym — Loving LA Fitness!!
Aiming for my 80/20 way of eating when I grocery shop.
Cooking healthy meals and NOT relying on Panera Bread for my sole sustenance.
Decorating the new place.
In between decorating, deciding it’s okay to Treat Yo’ Self.
Entertaining myself at the laundry mat by taking selfies.
And just smiling a lot more in general because I’m taking it all one day at a time post separation, post move, post move again, post divorce, post move again, and embracing this messy, lovely, beautiful life of mine. 🙂
